Yanco BR-6 Brown Speckled Chinaware 6-1/2" Plate, American White — Case of 36 (3 dz)

The BR-6 is a 6-1/2 inch round that falls into the salad plate band, the step above bread and butter and below the 7-1/4 inch BR-7. Three quarters of an inch of height gives it a shade more rim than the smaller plates in the pattern, which is what keeps a dressed salad or a wedge of melon from running over the edge on the way out of the kitchen.

Salad plates earn their keep by turning over more often than any other flat piece: they go out as a starter, come back, and go out again as a dessert or a shared appetizer. A thirty-six piece case is sized for that rhythm. The same round also takes a side of fries or a split roll without looking underfilled.
