Thirteen and a quarter inches long by 10-1/4 wide, with 1-1/4 inches of height, the BR-14 is the larger Brown Speckled oval platter. The extra depth over the BR-13 is the useful part: a quarter inch of additional wall holds the juices off a roast or a braise instead of letting them run to the rim and over.

At this footprint the platter takes a carved joint, a family-style vegetable, a whole side of salmon, or a mixed grill for sharing. It also works as a base under smaller dishes on a buffet line.
