Yanco BR-12 Brown Speckled Chinaware 9-1/2" x 7-1/2" Oval Plate, American White — Case of 24 (2 dz)

An oval plate reads differently from a round of the same measure. The BR-12 runs 9-1/2 inches on its long axis and 7-1/2 across, so its surface is narrower than a 9-1/2 inch round but just as long, which is the shape a fillet, a sandwich on the bias, or a row of three canapes actually wants.

Yanco's own sheet calls this one a dinner plate, but at 9-1/2 inches on the long side it sits under the ten inch line that separates plates from platters on this store, and it is written and filed as a plate accordingly. The matching ovals in the pattern, the BR-13 and BR-14, step up past that line. Two dozen in the case.
