Yanco BP-5109 Black Pearl Melamine 9" Square Display Plate, Black — Case of 24 (2 dz)

A nine-inch square with a shallow raised edge: four straight sides give a plated course a frame that a round plate does not, and at nine inches it stays a plate rather than crossing into platter territory. The square format suits modern Asian and tasting-menu plating, where the geometry of the dish is part of the presentation, and it sits flush against other squares on a long table without the wasted gaps rounds leave.

Depth is minimal, so this is a surface for arranging rather than a vessel for sauce. Melamine holds the corners sharp — the point where molded china tends to chip — and matte black keeps the four edges reading as lines.
