Yanco BP-5011 Black Pearl Melamine 11" x 7-1/4" x 1" Display Platter, Black — Case of 12 (1 dz)

Eleven by seven and a quarter inches puts this one past the ten-inch line, so it is a platter: a rectangle with enough floor for a shared appetizer spread, a cheese selection, or four plated portions set out together. The one-inch rim does the same job as on the smaller display pieces but over a much longer perimeter, which is what keeps an arrangement of olives or crudites from migrating over the edge in transit.

Its proportions are closer to square than the thirteen-inch, so a circular arrangement works here where the longer platter wants a line. Melamine keeps the loaded piece liftable at arm's length, and the matte ground reads as background rather than as surface.
