A 6" noodle bowl, three inches deep, holding 26 ounces — Yanco calls the shape woodong, after the Korean udon service. Twenty-six ounces is a full single portion of noodles in broth with room left for the broth not to reach the rim.

Depth equal to half the diameter is the proportion that defines this bowl: it holds liquid without a wide surface for it to cool across, and the steep wall keeps chopsticks from pushing noodles over the edge. Compared with the 5" salad bowl this holds more than three times the volume in one extra inch of span, which is purely the depth doing the work. Four dozen to a case. Matte black melamine insulates a hot broth service, so the bowl can be set down in front of a diner without an under-plate.
