Yanco BP-2209 Black Pearl Melamine 8-1/2" x 4" Rectangular Plate, Black — Case of 48 (4 dz)

Eight and a half by four inches with a half-inch profile — a narrow rectangular plate, close to flat. The proportions are roughly two to one, which puts food in a line and leaves almost no margin, so it is used where the presentation is the point: three canapes, a pair of maki, a sushi service for one.

Half an inch of rise is the shallowest in the 2200 run and it is a deliberate contrast to the deep plates that share the series. Nothing sinks, nothing hides, and the piece reads as a slim dark strip under the food. It also stacks very flat, so a hundred of them occupy little shelf. Forty-eight to a case. The body is matte black melamine, safe in a commercial dish machine, and the long edge is moulded true enough to line up two or three in a row.
