Ten inches square, one inch deep — the square dinner plate, and the point where Black Pearl's square run stops being a plate and starts being a serving piece. The wider pieces in the series are built to be served from rather than eaten from.

A hundred square inches of face is a lot of room for an entree, and the squared corners let a kitchen set a long garnish — a whole grilled fish tail, a bone-in chop, a skewer — diagonally without it hanging over the edge. The one-inch wall carries sauce. Melamine construction keeps the piece light for its span and it will not shatter when it goes down on a steel pass. Two dozen to a case, matte black throughout, dishwasher safe at commercial temperatures.
