Yanco BP-1109 Black Pearl Melamine 9" Square Plate, Black — Case of 24 (2 dz)

A 9" square plate with a 1" lip. Square plating gives a cook corners to work into, and at nine inches those corners are close enough together that a composed three-element dish still reads as one plate rather than four separate piles.

The square face holds about twenty per cent more surface than a 9" round, which shows up as usable room for a garnish or a sauce streak. This is the salad and starter size in Black Pearl's square run, with a raised edge carried all the way round. Supplied two dozen to a case. Matte black melamine takes the knife marks a square edge invites far better than a glazed finish, and the corner is moulded rather than joined, so there is nothing to chip off.
