Forty-five ounces in a nine-inch round: the BK-209 is a deep plate with serious volume. Two inches of wall over a nine-inch base gives a generous main-course vessel, a full serving of pho, a shared portion of mussels, a pasta plated for somebody who arrived hungry.

Against the seven-inch BK-207 it more than doubles capacity on two extra inches of diameter, because volume follows the square of the radius and not the width. Nine inches round leaves it in plate territory under the house sizing rule. The chinaware body is oven and microwave safe and survives commercial dishwashing; the white glaze carries no band.
