Eleven inches by eight with two inches of depth makes the BK-108 an oval deep platter, past the ten-inch line where a plate becomes a serving vessel. It takes a whole roasted fish, a family-style portion of braised short rib, or a bed of rice under something saucy, and the raised wall keeps the juices on the platter.

Oval is the useful shape for anything long: a fillet, a rack, a row of stuffed peppers. The chinaware takes oven heat, so a course can be finished and carried out in the same vessel without a transfer that breaks the plating. Bright white, no band, nothing to compete with what is on it. Two dozen arrive in each case.
