At five and a half inches by three and seven-eighths, the BK-005 is an individual oval baking dish, the size a kitchen reaches for when a course is composed, baked and served in the same vessel. Seven ounces is a side portion: a serving of macaroni, a baked custard, a dessert with a browned top.

The chinaware body carries a full inch and a half of wall, a quarter inch more than the shallower BK-002, which gives sauce somewhere to settle instead of running toward the rim. Oven, microwave and dishwasher are all within range, so the dish stays in rotation through a whole service rather than being set aside at one step.
