Sixteen by twelve is the banquet oval — a whole turkey breast, a tray of carved roast, a full fruit display, or the hot end of a buffet line. At this width the oval platter reads as a station rather than a serving piece, and there is room to lay two rows of plated portions side by side.

No other Ardis oval runs longer or wider: this one reaches four inches beyond the 12" by 9" and two beyond the 14" by 10". Yanco moulds the identical 16" by 12" oval in its Milando line. Melamine keeps the carrying weight manageable at a size where ceramic becomes a two-person lift, and the speckled beige finish disguises the serving-spoon scuffs a season of use leaves behind.
