Set against the 9" round in the same pattern it gains a full inch of diameter and a noticeably wider well; set against the 7-1/2" salad plate it anchors the cover rather than supporting it. Melamine takes the knock of a dropped tray where a china dinner plate would not, and brown speckling in the beige body keeps scratches from reading as damage. Cases hold 24.
