A ten by seven inch oval with a deeper coupe sweep than the flat plates in the range, rising an inch and a quarter at the edge. Ten inches on the long axis puts it right at the top of the plate band, and the extra depth is what makes it useful there.

Anything with sauce sits better here than on a flat oval: a braise, curry over rice, mussels in broth. The bowl-like floor pools liquid toward the centre instead of letting it find the edge. Twenty-four to the carton, which places it as an everyday entree piece rather than an occasional one.
