Eighteen by thirteen inches, an oval with a shallow one-and-three-eighths-inch lip. At this size a platter stops being a plate for several portions and starts being a station: twelve to sixteen pieces of carved meat, a full fish, a bed of roasted vegetables with the protein laid over it.
