Ten and a half inches with a rim is the plate most operators standardise on, and the AC-16 is Abco's. The border frames the food, keeps a sauce off the tablecloth, and gives a server somewhere to put a thumb that is not on the meal.

Measured against the rimless AC-10-C, which is half an inch smaller, the difference is not really size but usable centre: a rim takes an inch or so off the plating field in exchange for containment. Against the 11-1/4 inch AC-20 the step is one of presentation rather than portion. One dozen to the case, with the rolled edge Yanco builds into every Abco round. Dishwasher and microwave use are both fine.
