The Waring WPG250TX is the Panini Supremo large Italian-style panini grill with a 14.5" x 11" ribbed cast-iron cooking surface and a programmable timer. It draws 1800 watts from a standard 120V NEMA 5-15P outlet, so it drops into most cafes, delis and bars without electrical work. Ribbed plates leave classic grill marks on sandwiches, burgers, chicken and vegetables.

Ribbed Cast-Iron Plates With an Auto-Balancing Top

Both cooking plates are heavy cast iron with raised ribs. Cast iron stores a deep reserve of heat, so the surface holds its temperature when a cold sandwich or raw chicken breast goes down, and the ribs press defined grill marks while lifting the food just enough for fat and moisture to run off rather than soak into the bread. With heat coming from above and below at the same time, sandwiches and proteins finish faster than they would on a flat-top with a spatula and a weight.

The hinged top plate is auto-balancing, so it settles level on whatever is underneath, from a thin quesadilla to a stacked sandwich up to 3" thick, and applies even pressure across the whole item. Grease and crumbs drain to a removable drip tray, and the brushed stainless steel body wipes clean quickly at close. Adjustable back feet let you tip the grill slightly toward the drip tray for efficient grease drainage, which keeps the plates cleaner between orders when you are cooking fattier proteins.

Controls

The thermostat adjusts up to 570°F for slow-to-quick cooking, and POWER and READY lights confirm when the plates are up to temperature. The integrated timer offers COUNTDOWN and COUNT UP modes; hold the button to program a preset time, then press once per load. Waring's countdown timer sounds an audible alert when time runs out, which helps new staff turn out the same sandwich as an experienced cook and reduces overcooked product during a rush.
