Toastmaster TMLC24 24" Countertop Lava Rock Charbroiler, Cast Iron Grates, 60,000 BTU

If you want that smoky, flame-kissed flavor on a smaller menu, the Toastmaster TMLC24 is an easy way to get it. This 24-inch lava rock charbroiler sits on a counter or stand and suits bars, cafes, food trucks and small grills marking burgers, chicken, steaks and vegetables in modest volumes.

Two burners, one under each 12" section, supply 30,000 BTU/hr apiece for a total of 60,000 BTU/hr, each with its own control. Lava rock above the burners catches the drippings and sends that flavor back up into the food, and a standing pilot keeps it ready to fire.

What you will notice in day-to-day use

• Real charbroiled flavor. Lava rock captures drippings and returns the smoke and sizzle that customers expect from a grill.
• Two zones you control. Each 12" section has its own control, so you can run one side hot for searing and the other lower for finishing or holding.
• Grates that do double duty. Heavy-duty cast iron grates flip between a thin side for searing and a thick side for delicate items, and set flat or slanted to move grease away.
• Simpler cleanup. A full-width stainless steel water pan sits under the cooking area to catch grease and debris.
• Comfortable to cook at. The cool-to-the-touch stainless bull nose protects the knobs and keeps the front edge safer to work against.

Choosing your setup

Gas type: the charbroiler ships for natural gas with a convertible regulator and an LP conversion kit, so choose natural gas or liquid propane above. The lava rock model also comes in 36" (TMLC36) and 48" (TMLC48) widths, and there is a radiant version (TMRC series) if you prefer stainless radiants to rock.

Before it arrives

• Gas: 3/4" NPT connection; have a qualified installer connect it and convert it to LP with the included kit if needed.
• Ventilation: a charbroiler produces smoke and grease vapor, so install it under a commercial hood following your local code.
• Counter or stand: use a non-combustible counter with the 4" legs, or a stand at least 27" tall over a combustible floor. Keep at least 3" from combustible surfaces at the back and sides.
