Toastmaster TMHPF 12" Countertop Electric Hot Plate, 2 Solid French Tops, 208/240V
No gas line? No problem. The Toastmaster TMHPF is a compact electric hot plate with two solid French tops that needs only about 12 inches of counter. It is a smart fit for cafes, bars, coffee shops, kiosks and kitchens in buildings without gas service, or anywhere you want a couple of extra burners for sauces and soups.
Two sealed cast iron French tops, each 8-1/2" in diameter, run on 208V or 240V single phase. At 208V the unit draws 18.8 A and 3,900 W; at 240V it draws 21.7 A and 5,200 W. Each top has its own infinite control and indicator light.
What you will notice in day-to-day use
- Even heat on a solid surface. Sealed cast iron French tops heat evenly and give pots and pans a flat, stable base.
- Two independent burners. Separate infinite controls let you simmer on one side and bring something to a boil on the other.
- A cooler workstation. The enclosed bottom and solid top keep heat where it belongs, so less of it spills into the kitchen.
- Nothing to fall through. Sealed tops mean spills stay on the surface, where they are easy to wipe up.
- Fits almost anywhere. The compact 12" wide design slots in next to other countertop equipment.
Choosing your setup
Electrical: the hot plate is wired at a rear junction box and runs on either 208V or 240V single phase; output and amp draw depend on your supply, as shown below.

Before it arrives
- Power: have a licensed electrician run a dedicated 208V or 240V single-phase circuit to the rear junction box; there is no plug.
- Clearance: allow at least 1" of clearance on each side and at the back.
- Counter: it weighs only 35 lb, so any sturdy, level counter will do.
