Toastmaster TMGE36 36" Electric Countertop Griddle, 3/4" Steel Plate, 3 Snap-Action Zones, 12 kW
Thirty-six inches is the width many kitchens settle on for an all-day flat top, and the Toastmaster TMGE36 delivers it in an electric countertop package. With three independently controlled zones on a 3/4" polished steel plate, it handles the breakfast rush, lunch burgers and grilled sandwiches in a diner, deli, school or hotel kitchen where electric is the easier utility.
Each 12-inch section has its own heating element and its own snap-action thermostat, for three independent zones adjustable from 150°F to 450°F. Total power is 12 kW at 240V (9 kW at 208V), or 3,000 to 4,000 watts per section, and the 0.75-inch thick polished steel plate spreads that heat evenly across the surface.
What you will notice in day-to-day use
- Zones that work independently. With a thermostat for every 12" section, you can keep a hot sear zone, a medium zone and a gentle zone going at once, or switch off what you are not using.
- Simple, dependable controls. Snap-action thermostats with a positive "OFF" position are easy for any cook to read and set.
- A plate built for even cooking. The 3/4" thick polished steel surface holds heat well and cooks product evenly from edge to edge.
- Grease goes where it should. A spatula-wide 3-1/4" front grease trough and chute drain into a stainless steel grease drawer, and a 4-3/8" rear and side splash guard keeps the backsplash cleaner.
- Tough front end. Stainless steel front panel and bull nose protect the controls and stand up to daily use.

Voltage: the griddle operates on 208V or 240V service; choose single phase or three phase above to match your building. Output and amp draw depend on your voltage and phase:

Before it arrives
- Power: this griddle is hard-wired, so have a licensed electrician run a dedicated circuit sized for the amp draw of your voltage and phase.
- Clearance: keep 1" of clearance at the rear and both sides, and install it on the supplied 4" legs.
- Ventilation: install under a commercial hood following your local code.
- Delivery: it ships at about 262 lb in a carton roughly 39" x 28" x 20", so plan on extra hands to set it on the counter.
