Half cube ice is the workhorse shape for fountain drinks: it fills gaps in the cup, chills fast and flows smoothly through dispensers. The Serv-Ware SWM30-500H makes that ice in a 30" wide modular head, a good match for quick-service restaurants, diners, cafés and bars that want steady production without a high-voltage hookup.

It is rated at up to 500 lb per 24 hours, plugs into 115V power (1,295 W) with a NEMA 5-15P plug, and runs a 1/4 HP air-cooled system charged with R290 refrigerant. The head measures 29-15/16" W x 23-3/8" D x 22-1/4" H; pair it with a storage bin sold separately.

• More drinks per scoop. Smaller half cubes pack tightly in cups, so drinks cool quickly and portions look generous.
• Standard power. Runs from a regular 115V outlet with a NEMA 5-15P plug, so most kitchens need no electrical upgrade.

• Airflow: leave clearance around the air-cooled unit and keep it away from hot cooking equipment; the front legs adjust for leveling.

Three years parts and labor on the entire unit, plus five years on the compressor and evaporator (parts only), from Serv-Ware. Coverage is for commercial use in the United States.
