For many restaurants, 36 inches is the sweet spot: enough grill for a full lunch and dinner service, but still easy to fit into an existing line. The MagiKitch'n APM-SMB-636 is a low profile ceramic coal charbroiler that suits casual dining, pubs, burger bars and catering kitchens looking for that classic flame-grilled flavor.
Seven stainless steel burners provide 105,000 BTU/hr in total. They heat a single 32-3/4" x 24-3/4" floating steel grid with 810 square inches of cooking area, and each burner has its own front control.
What you will notice in day-to-day use
- Smoky, coal-style flavor. A ceramic coal screen sits over the burners, catching drippings and sending up the flare and smoke that give grilled food its look and taste.
- One wide, open grid. The single-piece grid gives you an uninterrupted surface for long items like skewers, flank steak or a row of burger patties.
- Precise burner control. Every stainless steel burner has its own front control, so you can build hot and moderate zones across the grill.
- Grids that stay true. The free floating 1/2" steel rod top grid handles constant heating and cooling without warping, and E-Z Tilt drains grease into the front trough.
- Cleanup made simpler. A crumb tray, a top grid scraper and a 6" stainless service shelf with towel bar are standard.
Choosing your setup
Gas type: this charbroiler is offered for natural gas or liquid propane (LP); choose the gas your kitchen uses above. The 105,000 BTU/hr rating is the total input. A 3/4" gas regulator ships unattached and must be installed on the supply before the gas line is connected. Supply and burner pressures are below.
| Gas | Supply pressure | Burner pressure |
|---|---|---|
| Natural gas | 7–10" W.C. | 4" W.C. |
| Liquid propane | 11–13" W.C. | 10" W.C. |
The APM series also comes in 24" to 72" widths, radiant or ceramic coal, and in high-output (-H) versions.

Before it arrives
- Gas: have a qualified installer fit the supplied 3/4" regulator, then connect to the 3/4" NPT inlet. Size the supply line to hold burner pressure with every gas appliance on the line running.
- Ventilation: install under a commercial hood following local code; do not block the flue or place hood drains over it.
- Clearance: keep 6" at the sides, 8" at the rear and 4" at the floor from combustible materials (0" sides and rear to non-combustible), and allow a 30" aisle in front. Indoor use only.
- Delivery: ships crated at about 585 lb (40" x 42" x 40" H x W x L), so plan for a liftgate or dock and enough hands to set it in place.
