The Jackson AJ-86CS pairs a 22" prewash with steam-coil tank heat, a practical match for institutions that already have a boiler on site. Correctional facilities, nursing care homes and hospitals that see heavily soiled trays all day will get the most from it.
It handles up to 287 racks per hour using 0.77 gallons of fresh water per rack. Each rack goes from a 110–140°F prewash to a 150°F wash and 160°F power rinse, then a fresh 180°F final rinse sanitizes. Clearance is 25" throughout. There is no booster on board, so plan for one.
What you will notice in day-to-day use
- Heated by steam you already have. Stainless coils inside the wash and power rinse tanks carry the steam, so it never mixes with the wash water.
- Prewash takes the heavy hit. Prewash arms strip scraps into a front scrap basket that is easy to empty.
- Dial in the pace. Adjust-A-Peak™ sets the conveyor anywhere from 144 to 287 racks per hour.
- Saves energy between waves. EnergyGuard™ runs each section only when a rack is present.
- Few parts to go wrong. The controls are electro-mechanical with one ON/OFF switch, and the build is 304 stainless steel with no plastics.
Choosing your setup
Electrical: select the voltage and phase above to match your service, since pumps, conveyor and controls run on electricity. The sheet's amperage figures are not broken out for steam models, so size the circuit from this machine's data plate. 460V three-phase is a factory option.
Direction: choose left-to-right or right-to-left rack flow (as you face the machine) above, based on where your soiled and clean tables sit.
Booster heater: sold separately. Jackson's steam booster takes 140°F incoming water; electric Hatco boosters are also available.
