Groen DEE/4T-60CINA/2 60 Gallon Steam Jacketed Kettle - 2/3 Jacket, Inclined Agitator

Production of stock and chili that cannot be left still is the load the DEE/4T-60CINA/2 carries, at 60 gallons a batch. Floor mounting has to take the weight of the vessel and the mixing head together. Heating is by sealed element rather than by flame, so nothing about the installation involves a flue.

The heated zone reaches two thirds of the way up, which is what keeps a starch-heavy batch off a hot bottom. Maximum working pressure in the jacket is 50 PSI. A worm-and-gear crank does the tilting, and because the gear is self-locking the vessel stays exactly where the operator stops it. Mixing is by inclined head, set on a slant so the charge folds over itself rather than rotating in place.

The cooking interior is 316 stainless with a 304 jacket around it. Lining is 316 stainless, which is the grade to specify where brine and acid are in the vessel daily. Groen builds it with Classic or Advanced controls and nothing more elaborate. Groen lists the kettle to UL, NSF and ASME. A stainless bowl of this shape washes out in one pass.
