Groen DEE/4-20C 20 Gallon Steam Jacketed Kettle - Manual Tilt

Where soup and stew are made 20 gallons at a time, the DEE/4-20C replaces a bank of pots with one tilting vessel. The kettle stands free on the floor rather than being hung from anything. The kettle makes its own steam electrically, which suits a building with no gas service.

The jacket is a sealed steam space against the vessel wall, so heat crosses it evenly instead of concentrating under the batch. Connected heating load is 10.8 kW, and the jacket carries a 50 PSI maximum. A crank meters the pour, which matters when the batch has to go into more than one pan.

Groen builds the vessel in type 316 stainless, welded rather than bolted together, so there is no lap joint inside to hold a residue. Interior polishing runs to 180 emery grit, so there is little for product to cling to. Type 316 stainless lines the vessel. The Classic package is a knob and lights, Advanced adds a timer and an LED display, and Cook2Temp adds a core probe. Groen lists the kettle to UL, NSF and ASME.

It measures 26 Inch by 29 Inch and stands 55 Inch high, which is the floor area to mark out before anything else is placed.
