Sliding doors never swing out into the aisle, which is exactly why they work so well in tight shops and busy counters. The Dukers DSM-40SR is a two-door sliding glass merchandiser in sleek all-black styling, a good match for convenience stores, cafes, bodegas and takeout counters where the space in front of the cooler is precious.

It holds 39 cubic feet of chilled product between 33°F and 40°F, set on a digital controller with LED display. The bottom-mounted 1/2 HP compressor uses R290 natural refrigerant for quick pull-down, and the unit runs on ordinary 115V power at 9.2 amps and 690 watts.

What you will notice in day-to-day use

• No door swing to plan around. Two sliding anti-fog tempered glass doors open within the footprint of the cabinet, so customers can shop without stepping back.
• Ten shelves, five a side. Adjustable, removable coated wire shelves take anything from single-serve cans to 2-liter bottles.
• A cabinet that looks the part. All-black styling with LED interior and canopy lighting makes the products the brightest thing in the case.
• Consistent cold. Tight-sealing glass doors and automatic defrost keep temperatures steady through the day.

• Power: plugs into a standard 115V NEMA 5-15 outlet; give it a dedicated circuit if you can.
• Delivery: it stands 80-1/4" tall, 31-7/8" deep and 47-1/4" wide, so measure doorways, halls and any turns on the route in.
• Airflow: the compressor sits at the bottom, so keep the front grille clear and leave a little space around the cabinet, especially in a warm room.
