The Cambro 18263CW is a full size Camwear food storage box holding 5.0 gal. and measuring 18" x 26" x 3 1/2". It is molded from crystal-clear, virtually unbreakable Camwear polycarbonate, so bulk produce, proteins and prepped ingredients can be identified and inventoried from outside the box, and it accepts Cambro's Camwear flat lids and SlidingLids (sold separately) to close the box against drips and cross-contamination.

Camwear Polycarbonate: Clear, Tough and Cold-Ready

Camwear food boxes are molded from Cambro's clear polycarbonate resin, the same material as its Camwear food pans. The box walls are rigid and shatter-resistant, rated from -40°F to 210°F (-40°C to 99°C), and they resist the acids, stains and odors that stay behind in cheaper plastics after storing citrus, tomato or brined product. Handles are molded into the ends for a secure two-hand lift of a full box, and the underside is textured so a box resists scratching and does not slide when set on a stainless shelf or stacked on another box. Half-size boxes share the 12" x 18" footprint and full-size boxes the 18" x 26" footprint, in depths from 3 1/2" to 15", so lids, drain shelves and colanders interchange within each footprint.

In practice the clear body cuts handling: staff see what is in the box and roughly how much is left without pulling it off the shelf or lifting the lid, which keeps product colder and reduces the chance of contaminating it. Topping the box with a Camwear flat lid creates a stable, stackable storage unit in the walk-in or freezer; a SlidingLid gives repeated access from a shelf without unstacking.
