The American Range AECB-24 is a 24-inch countertop char-rock charbroiler that cooks over natural volcanic lava rock. Two individually controlled 35,000 BTU/hr cast-iron "H" burners (70,000 BTU/hr total) heat the rock bed; drippings hit the hot rock and flare into searing flame and smoke for true char-broiled flavor. It runs on natural gas or liquid propane; select the gas type above.
Lava Rock Char-Broiling
Lava rock spreads burner heat evenly beneath the grates and turns drippings into flavorful smoke. Heavy-duty reversible cast-iron 5" x 21" top grates leave attractive marks and can be set flat or sloped to move grease forward.
Why Operators Choose It

Installation & Utility Requirements
Connect to the gas supply with the inlet size shown above. Manifold pressure is 5.0" W.C. on natural gas and 10.0" W.C. on propane (the countertop griddles use 4.0" W.C. on natural gas through the supplied regulator, which must be installed). Specify the gas type, and the altitude if above 2,000 feet; have a qualified technician make the connection and check pressures at start-up.
For use only on non-combustible floors and counters, on legs or casters (or with a 2-inch overhang when curb mounted). Clearance from non-combustible walls is 0 inches; next to combustible walls keep at least 12 inches at the sides and 4 inches at the rear. Radiant/char broilers are for non-combustible locations only. Install under a ventilation hood per NFPA 96 and local codes. If the unit sits on a stand with casters, use a flexible gas connector with a restraining device.
