Yanco Discover Collection

Matte is the first thing to know about Discover. All fifteen pieces name a matte finish in the product title, and all fifteen carry the same two-tone white and gray coloring, so the line is consistent end to end on both counts. It is a plate collection before it is anything else: eleven of the fifteen items are flat plates, in four outlines, and only four are bowls. Melamine throughout, no china pieces in it.

Three outlines built to the same widths

Round, square and rectangular plates are each stocked at 8" and 10", and square and rectangular repeat at 6". That is the useful structure in a fifteen-piece line: a kitchen can send a round entree, a square appetizer and a rectangular side out at matching widths and have them sit together on a tray or a shared table without one reading oversized. The ovals break the pattern at 9" and 11", and the bowls ignore it entirely. Three of the four bowls hold 14 oz to 18 oz, portion-size; the fourth, a 12 1/2" round at 98 oz, holds more than five times the largest of the others and is the only piece here scaled for family-style or buffet work.
