Yanco Bamboo Style

Read the SKU prefix before you order from this page, because two different materials are listed here. The BA-series is Bamboo Style proper: 25 pieces of melamine molded and finished to read as bamboo, which wash like any other melamine. The BB-series is actual bamboo — five rectangular trays, five bowls and a paddle board, cut from real wood. Three WD-series items are melamine again, brown with a bamboo-look finish. The three plate together; the care is not the same.

The melamine Bamboo Style pieces (BA-series)

• Square plates at 8", 9", 10", 11" and 12"
• Rectangular plates at 8" x 5", 12" x 7 1/2", 12 1/2" x 7 1/4", 14" x 8 1/2" and 16" x 10"
• Display plates at 12" x 6 3/4", 14" x 8" and 16" x 9"
• An 11 1/2" deep plate and an 8 1/2" x 6" divided plate
• Bowls: 3 1/2" sauce (6 oz), 4 1/2" miso (10 oz), 4 1/2" rice (10 oz), 5 1/2" soup (16 oz), 6 1/2" sheer (32 oz), 7" salad (32 oz), 8" salad/noodle (42 oz) and 8 3/4" salad/noodle (58 oz)
• A 3" tea cup (7 oz) and an 8" spoon

Bamboo look versus real bamboo

Bamboo Style is not wood. The BA and WD pieces are melamine with a grain printed and textured into the surface, so they stack tightly, survive a drop and wash on a normal cycle. The BB pieces behave like wood: hand wash, no soaking, and expect the color to move over time. If wood is what you want, the Yanco wooden sushi boat also has its own page at Bamboo & Wood.
