Yanco NS-110Y Nessico Melamine 10-1/4" Round Dinner Plate, Yellow — Case of 24 (2 dz)

A yellow plate at full dinner size is a deliberate choice: buffets, themed catering, school and camp dining rooms where the ware is part of the look and the colour has to carry across a hall. The 10-1/4 inch surface takes a complete meal, and the inch of depth copes with the gravy-heavy food those kitchens tend to serve.

Melamine's advantage in a self-service room is that the plate is handled by people who are not trained to handle it. Stacked badly, knocked off a counter, run through a machine at full temperature - the body takes all of it, and the pigment does not fade out of it, because the colour is through the material rather than under a glaze.
