Yanco MR-313 Mars Chinaware 13-3/4" x 8-1/4" x 2-1/8" Deep Oval Platter, White and Blue — Case of 12 (1 dz)

Two and an eighth inches deep, the MR-313 is the deepest oval in the pattern, and at 13-3/4 inches long it is second only to the MR-215 among the ovals. The combination is unusual: a platter-sized footprint with a genuine well.

That suits anything served in its own liquid for a table of four — mussels, a whole braised bird, a vegetable stew. Against the MR-311 it gains two inches of length and a quarter inch of depth, which is the difference between one generous portion and a dish meant to be shared.
