Just over ten inches on the long axis, the MM-12 crosses into platter territory by a quarter of an inch and behaves like one.

It is the oval a kitchen sends out for a single composed entree, a fillet with two sides or a sandwich with its accompaniments, where a round of the same area would crowd the ends. The 24-piece carton marks it as a working piece rather than a presentation one; its bigger siblings, the 11-3/4" MM-13 and the 14" MM-14, pack a dozen. Bone white chinaware with the Miami embossing on the rim.
