Ten inches is where Main Land’s plain squares stop being plates; the 12-inch ML-112 and the 14-inch ML-114 above it are catalogued as platters. That makes this the broad dinner cover of the pattern at roughly 100 square inches, some 19 square inches more face than the 9-inch ML-109, which is the margin a kitchen needs for a plated entree with sauce drawn around it instead of spooned over the top.
