Seven inches across with a two-inch wall, the ME-307 is the larger of Mexico's two deep square plates and holds twenty-two ounces — eight more than the 6-inch ME-306. That extra volume moves the piece from a side portion to a main: menudo, a generous serving of mole with rice, or pasta where a flat plate cannot contain the sauce.

The wall of this deep square plate is steep enough to keep liquid in and low enough that a diner can still work a fork across the base. Red melamine with black speckles running through the body.
