Eleven and a half inches of plate overall, with a six-inch well dropping two and a half. Fourteen ounces sit at the centre of a surface wide enough to carry a spoon, a cup and a folded napkin alongside, which is how this piece ends up in brunch service as often as at the dessert course.

Against the nine-and-a-quarter-inch Agate version of the same form, it adds two and a quarter inches of diameter and four ounces of volume, and the extra flange is what registers: more frame around the food.
