MagiKitch'n MKG-24-ST 24" Countertop Griddle, 1" Thick Polished Plate, Solid State Thermostats, 60,000 BTU

Small kitchens rarely have room for a big flat top, but they still need one that cooks like it means it. The MagiKitch'n MKG-24-ST packs a full 1-inch thick polished steel plate and solid state thermostats into a 24-inch footprint, which makes it a strong fit for cafes, bars with a short menu, food halls and any line where counter space is tight but quality cannot slip.

Four stainless steel venturi burners, one for every 6 inches, put out a total of 60,000 BTU/hr. Two solid state thermostats, one for each 12-inch zone, hold the plate anywhere from 150°F to 550°F, and their probes are embedded in the plate itself. The cooking surface measures 23-3/4" wide by 24" deep.

What you will notice in day-to-day use

• Precise heat in a compact size. Solid state controls with plate-embedded probes read the real surface temperature, so a delicate egg zone and a hot sear zone can sit side by side on just 24 inches.
• No matches, no fuss. Matchless ignition lights the pilot automatically when you switch the power on, and recessed pilot-ready lights and power switches show you the griddle is live.
• Thick plate, steady results. The 1" thick polished plate stores a lot of heat, so it does not sag in temperature every time a fresh batch of patties hits the steel.
• Less grease on the floor. A 3-1/2" spatula-wide front trough with a fully welded chute empties into a 3.75 gallon grease box with its own splash zone compartment.
• Fits snugly against the wall. The gas regulator and shutoff are factory installed and recessed, and the safety pilot shuts off gas if the flame is lost.

Choosing your setup

Gas type: this griddle is offered for natural gas or liquid propane (LP); choose the gas your kitchen uses above. The gas regulator and shutoff come factory installed. Burner and supply pressures for each gas are below.

Need more room or a simpler control? The MKG series also comes in 36", 48" and 60" widths, with snap action or electric thermostat versions.

Specifications

Before it arrives

• Gas: 3/4" gas connection; a qualified installer should size the supply line to hold burner pressure with every appliance on full.
• Power: the matchless ignition and thermostats need a 115V supply; draw is only 0.44 A.
• Ventilation: install under a commercial hood following local code, and do not block the flue or place hood drains over it.
• Clearance: keep 6" at the rear and 2" at the sides from combustible surfaces (0" sides next to non-combustible). If you mount it on a stand with casters, use a flexible gas hose with a restraint.
• Delivery: ships crated at about 370 lb (42" x 23" x 38"); stands ship separately.
