MagiKitch'n MKE-60-ST 60" Electric Griddle, 1" Thick Polished Plate, Solid State Thermostats, 28.5 kW

When the griddle is the busiest station in the building, five feet of flat top changes how the whole line runs. The MagiKitch’n MKE-60-ST is a 60-inch electric countertop griddle with a 1-inch thick polished steel plate and solid state thermostat controls, built for high-volume breakfast service, burger and cheesesteak concepts, hotels, campuses and institutional kitchens that keep the plate loaded from open to close.

Incoloy sheathed elements are pressure clamped to the underside of the plate and deliver 28.5 kW in total, 5.7 kW for every 12 inches. That gives you five independently controlled zones across a 59-3/4" x 24" cooking area, each with its own solid state thermostat adjustable from 150°F to 550°F and its own on/off switch.

What you will notice in day-to-day use

• Five zones, five decisions. Run a hot sear section, a cooler section for eggs or holding and switch off the zones you do not need during slow periods.
• Precise, responsive control. Solid state thermostats with temperature probes embedded right in the plate read the actual cooking surface, so the controls react quickly and hold your set point closely.
• Recovery under a full load. A 1" thick plate is a deep heat reservoir; lay down a full sheet of frozen patties and the surface comes back fast.
• Grease that goes where it should. A 3-1/2" spatula-wide front trough with a fully welded chute drains into a large 3.75 gallon grease box with a splash-zone compartment.
• Easy to close down at night. Extra smooth 12 gauge back and side splash, no exposed fasteners and an easy-to-remove cabinet back make wiping down quicker.
• Fits a flush line. The 4" legs can be removed to flush-mount the solid-panel cabinet base on a counter or stand.

Choosing your setup

Voltage: choose the voltage and phase that match your kitchen’s service above. Every version is rated 28.5 kW. The 60-inch model requires two power supplies; the table shows the maximum amps per line from the MagiKitch’n electrical chart. The griddle is field wired on dedicated circuits, and for three-phase service the factory offers optional 6 ft, 60 amp cords with NEMA 15-60P plugs (two are required on this width).

Prefer the standard electric thermostats (200°F – 550°F)? That version is the MKE-60-E. The MKE series also comes in 24", 36" and 48" widths.

Before it arrives

• Power: have a licensed electrician run two dedicated circuits sized for the amp draw of the voltage and phase you choose.
• Ventilation: install under a commercial hood following your local code.
• Space: 60" wide, about 31-5/8" deep and 975 lb; keep 6" behind it and 2" at the sides from combustible surfaces (0" sides next to non-combustible). Stands ship separately.
• Delivery: the crate weighs about 1,025 lb, so plan for a liftgate or dock, a pallet jack and several people.
