Yanco Aqua Spirits Collection

The Yanco Aqua Spirits Collection is real lead-free glass, 29 pieces, and it is the stemmed half of Yanco's glassware program: wine, goblets, martini, coupes, a flute, brandy, margarita and a poco grande, plus two stemless wines and a shot. Listings state lead-free and dishwasher safe, and each carries height, top, base and bowl measurements — worth reading before you order, because several shapes in this line share a capacity while differing by more than two inches in height.

Glass, not the plastic look-alike

Yanco sells a clear SAN plastic line in many of these same silhouettes, and on a product photograph the two are hard to tell apart. Aqua Spirits is glass: it has the weight, it rings, and it breaks. The Yanco Stemware collection is the plastic one — shatterproof SAN, specified for pools, patios and stadium service. Buyers who want glass for a dining room and plastic for the terrace often order from both pages; buyers who assume one page covers both end up with the wrong material at the wrong table.

Wine, stemmed and stemless

Eight stemmed wines run from the AS-308 (8 oz) up through the AS-108 (8.5 oz), AS-708 (8.5 oz), AS-110 (10 oz), AS-111 (11 oz) and AS-112 (12 oz). The AS-108 and AS-708 are the clearest illustration of why height matters: identical 8.5 oz pours, one 5.625" tall and the other a full 8". Varietal-specific options are the AS-208 white wine (8.5 oz) and the broad-bowled AS-113 red wine (13.5 oz). Stemless service is the AS-512 (12 oz) and AS-516 (16 oz).

Goblets for banquet and water service

Six goblets, which is a deep bench for one line and the reason banquet operations look at Aqua Spirits: the AS-510 banquet goblet (10.5 oz), AS-211 (11 oz), AS-511 (11.5 oz), AS-114 banquet goblet (14 oz), AS-214 tall goblet (14 oz) and the 9.125" AS-414 (14 oz), the tallest piece in the collection. The short banquet goblets are the ones that survive stacked table setups; the tall ones are for a set table with room above the plate.

Cocktail, beer and after-dinner

Martinis are the AS-305 (5.5 oz) and AS-508 (8.5 oz); coupes the AS-408 cocktail coupe (8.5 oz) and AS-311 champagne coupe (10.5 oz). Margaritas come in the AS-411 (11.5 oz) and AS-415 (15.5 oz), with the AS-314 poco grande (14 oz) for frozen and blended drinks. Sparkling service is the 9" AS-406 flute (6.25 oz). Brandy is the AS-505 (6 oz) and AS-509 (9.25 oz). Beer is handled by the AS-412 (12 oz) and AS-413 tall beer glass (13.5 oz), and the smallest piece in the line is the AS-001 shot (0.95 oz).

There are no tumblers on this page — rocks, highballs, coolers and beer tumblers are in the Yanco Aqua Mist collection, the matching lead-free glass line, and the two together make a complete bar. For the shatterproof alternative in these stemmed shapes, see the SAN Stemware collection. The full Yanco range covers the rest of the catalog.
